I'm kl1964, very much a newbie. I'm still feeling somewhat shy about jumping into the quicknote conversations, and I probably will be for a while. I know some of you already, to those I don't feel free to check out my profile, very much a work in progress.

I'm a bit taken aback by the quicknote conversations. There are some in those convos that can be, well, downright rude. Disagreements are fine, sometimes even healthy, but it seems to me there are at least a few Zoners who sort of enjoy stepping on toes. I guess some people enjoy that, but it's not my kind of entertainment. All in all, though, this place looks like fun, so I'm going to stick with it for now.
Hi KL. Welcome. I was taken aback by the qn's when I first joined too. Did you know you can toggle public qn's off and on quickly? You can also go into your account settings and turn them off completely. Just ask me or someone else when you have questions about how to do things.
Be patient as there are some fun and nice people here in addition to the rude ones.
Hi and welcome, KL. THe quicknote drama can get annoying, but like Buck-eye fan said, you can turn those off, (I know I do at times).

I see from your profile that you have no problem with the games, you've accumulated a good set of points in a short period of time. Way to go.
About the quick notes. They aren't for everyone, especially me. If you need a respite, in the field where you would type a quick note, just type "/togqn" (without the quotes) and they'll quit displaying until next time you are ready to give them a try. I, personally, turned them off a long time ago and have left them off. But, that's me, not the zone.
You'll find that one of the great things about this community is that you can do pretty much what you want to do, but don't have todo anything else. It's kind of like living at home with a bunch of brothers and sisters, except you don't have to clean your room if you don't want to.

Hey, and welcome to the insanity. You're going to find plenty of people who are obnoxious just for the sake of being obnoxious, but they're manageable. A few of them are even lovable, in a weirdly twisted kind of way. Lol, anyway...the ignore feature is your friend, as I think you've already discovered. And, I find that turning off public Qn's makes this place a bit less interesting, but that's a personal thing, and I have turned them off on occasions when the arguing/drama/virtual food fights have become annoying. There are some pretty spiffy people here, though, so don't let the obnoxious few scare you off. Cheers.
yep well as with everywhere, unfortunately some just get a big kick out of being rude! but as others have said, the nice ones on here outweigh the bad! :)
